One-day national level workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights for Global Business: Forward-Looking Agenda for India” was held at IIM, Bangalore organized by VTPC, Govt. of Karnataka in collaboration with FICCI Karnataka and IIM Bangalore. Delegates from diverse backgrounds including Entrepreneurs, consultants, Faculties, Government officials, corporate professionals, students etc participated in the conference. Dr. A. Prakash and Dr. A. Ameer Hussain from IIBS, Bangalore participated in the conference.

Past Chairman, FICCI KSC addressed on the importance of IPR, Mr. Ullas Karanth, Chairman, FICCIKSC and Joint Managing Director, Jyothi Laboratories Ltd Bangalore spoke about the IPR related to pharma industries.
Later Rear Admiral Atul Khanna, VSM., Additional Director General, DQA (N), Ministry of Defence., Dept of Defense Production spoke about IPR in Defense Sector.

Sessions on Perspective on IPR regime in India and its impact, Modernising IPR-Administration in India, Geographical Indications, streamlining the transfer of technology through licensing, data protection and privacy and synergies with made in India, startup and digital India and IPR management were held. These sessions helped us to know the various perspectives of IPR by the senior officials via lectures, presentations, and panel discussion. It also paved the way to have a network among the participants from various sectors.
