  • The research paper should be submitted in word format and article should be an original write up by the researcher

IIBS Kolkata Campus Celebrates the MBA Fresher's Party 2018


IIBS Kolkata Campus organized the MBA Fresher's Party 2018 to give freshmen a taste of campus fun.  It generally happens after a few days of the beginning of college of the first year. MBA Batch 2017 of IIBS Kolkata welcomed the Batch 2018 on 12th Dec 2018 through the Freshco. The theme of the Freshco was Bollywood and the students were dressed in the Bollywood style.


The programme constituted of solo dance and group dance of Bollywood songs along with the comedy skit and recitations. Some fun games were also conducted by the students adding more glitter to the party.


Snacks and refreshments were arranged by the MBA students. The whole objective of the programme was to pass the torch of success, development etc from the seniors to the juniors.


This was a wonderful platform for showcasing their talents and socialization between the two batches. The whole programme was funded, organized and designed by the students of Batch 2017 demonstrating their learned management skills and also setting examples as role models to the juniors.


The programme ended with a bang with the ramp walk by both the groups and thereby, identifying Miss and Mr Fresher based on their performance, participation and attire. Both the group of students demonstrated their team management and leadership skills through this programme.
The faculty and the staff were also present in the function for encouraging and motivating them.

IIBS Surface-2018 Intercollegiate Cultural fest held in Bangalore


Surface is an Intra collegiate management and cultural fest organized by IIBS for MBA and PGDM students. It is one of the flagship events of IIBS to encourage every management student and this power-packed event helps the student to showcase their talent. The entire event of Surface is conceived, planned and implemented by students with the support of faculties in the given time frame.

Surface -2018 was held at IIBS Airport Campus on 27th October 2018 with a theme of Samskruthi, colours of cultural diversity. Dr.Jay Prakash, the Chairman of IIBS, inaugurated the program along with Prof.Rizwan Ali Baig, Registrar IIBS and Mr.Rahim Khan, Director IIBS.


The preliminary rounds of the management fest were conducted on 26th October and the final rounds were conducted on 27th October. These rounds were set on high standards with the perfect blend of leadership qualities and skills and it had distinguished rounds in various spheres of business, which gathered the best of talents to one platform. On the day of the programme, a number of cultural performances were lined up ranging from Solo Song, Solo Dance, Group Song, Group Dance, Mono Act, Mimicry Skit etc and the much-awaited Fashion Show in Partywear, Ethnic and Corporate attire.  The main attraction of the Ethnic fashion show was that the students had represented the different states of India.  Along with the program on stage, there were offstage events like Rangoli, Mehandi, Painting, collage, face painting, poster designing, veg carving, flower decoration, calligraphy, photography etc.  

Professional expertise like Choreography for Dance and Fashion Show, Dress designing, Grooming and make-up is provided to the students to enable them to give their best on the stage. The students are given 10-15 days to prepare well for the program.
The event Management Company supported the students with efficient laser lighting, sound system and well-decorated stage. Good photographs and videos were taken for memories and displayed in the college and also made available on the IIBS website and the social media platform.

Prizes and certificates to winners, runners and even participants are given in each category, and the main attraction was the declaration of Mr.IIBS and Ms.IIBS.
Outcome: Surface helps the student to display inherent Cultural and Management talent. Enables the IIBS students to participate in various Management and Cultural events organized by other colleges. The students are trained for Participation, Meticulous planning and Time management. Improves the interaction and coordination between the students. Helps to improve Communication, Team skills and Leadership skills.

Drive 2 Inspire - Fun Car Rally by Rotary at IIBS Bangalore


The Drive 2 Inspire car rally that was organised by the Rotary Bangalore Heritage-NCC at IIBS Bangalore Campus, in association with the venue sponsors International Institute of Business Studies, on 9th of December, 2018, was a great success.
 

Rotarians, and the young Rotaractors of IIBS, took part in it enthusiastically. The Leading B-School in Bangalore, playing the host, with its ever proactive students, made the program a great hit.
The program was organised as a fundraiser to support teach Initiative and vocational service projects.
The car rally started at Hoysala Grounds, Yelahanka, and the endpoint was at IIBS, Airport Campus. At the end point IIBS Rotaractors, had it all organized, as the students of MBA and PGDM were ready to make it a day of their own.


During prize distribution ceremony, Chief Guest Mr. P S Sandhu, IPS, A.D.G (P) spoke about safety driving,  road accidents resulting in deaths;  suggested that people, youth, in particular, should wear helmets while driving two-wheelers and while driving car should wear seatbelts. He insisted that everyone follow the road rules diligently, and safely drive


The stalls put by the Business school postgraduates, and the tactics to sell and entertain the Rotaractors coming from all parts of Bangalore, had put up fun games stalls and also food stalls.

Microfinance Awareness in Hunasooru by IIBS PGDM Student


IIBS Bangalore PGDM Batch on 1st December, 2018 Finance students along with Prof. Samiya Mubeenhad been to meet below poverty line people to spread awareness on MicroFinance products and services. For this one nearby village Hunasooru was being selected by us, where Dr. Prakash also joined us in this awareness camp at Hunasooru. We, students, have had a conversation with more than 30 households and most of the women of the households are associated with Shree ShaktiShree Shakti is the one of the Self Help Group.


Self Help Group is having more than 20 years and has bank accounts in Kaveri Grameen Bank. The income level of these households varies within the range of Rs.10,000- Rs.20,000 p.m. and are mostly into horticulture, Sericulture (silk making business), agriculture and milk production business and when the need of money arises, they prefer taking loan and advances from their friends and relatives and the ladies of the house being a part of SHG takes it from the SHGs.


There are more than 6 SHGs in the village. When a loan is granted or given to any of the members of the SHG, the tenure is fixed for 12 months and then fails to pay the instalment of the loan amount after 12 months, the interest rate of 3-5% is charged on a day basis. Further, if the non-payment of loan continues, the members of the group approach the loan taker and negotiations takes place for rescheduling the tenure of payment. ERP Implementation in IIBS, A Step Forward in Education


ERP System for IIBS Business School, One step forward in education technologies. ERP software is now becoming mainstream in the education sector. The main reason for the change in demand is how MBA B schools are becoming complex day by day. More data is flowing through the organization and it is always a good idea to keep track of the data and make good decisions based on the data.


Our IIBS has engaged an external ERP solution service provider to implement the ERP system across all IIBS campuses. To initiate the implementation and use ERP system, we have organized hands-on training at IIBS Airport campus to move online & digitally on Thursday, 29-Nov-18 for the teaching faculty members.


The Registrar Prof. Rizwan Ali Baig gave the glimpse of the EPR software benefits and introduce to Mr. Hariprasad Chief Architect. The session was further taken by Mr. Hariprasad, where he gave a brief introduction on how software helps in a professor in the various ways

Industrial visit to CenturyPly Ltd. by IIBS MBA Student Kolkata

IIBS Kolkata campus had organized an industrial tour to visit the Century Plyboards India Ltd., Joka on 16th November 2018 to develop the industry-academia relationship. The students in the tour had learned the whole process of lamination and the nitty-gritty of the industry. CenturyPly has been the front-runner in applying innovation at work.


This philosophy has been the cornerstone of all their processes and technologies.In recent years, the company is a one-point manufacturing unit of all kinds of plywoods and plywood related products, offering International quality and highest ROI to each stakeholder. The batch of MBA 2018-20, a number of 50 students with 24 boys and 26 girls accompanied by academic and placement team had made the tour a success.


The industrial visit was ended with an interactive session with the students and the company management where the students learned various aspects of human resourcemarketing and operations. Lunch was served to the students at an economical place. The trip started at 9:00am and ended at 7:00pm. By giving the vote of thanks and the Momentos the group departed towards the college.

PGDM Students Discuss Micro-Finance at IIBS Bangalore


Microfinance is providing small loans to the extremely poor people for self-employment to generate income which facilitates themselves and their families. Microfinance program has been dramatically increased in the last two decades. Through this program income inequalities and poverty has been reduced and is applied successfully in many countries.


Microfinance is a novel economic development tool aimed at alleviating poverty through financial inclusion, socio-economic empowerment, and self-sufficiency. By virtue of a large and poor population. The microfinance in Andhra Pradesh is in latest news due to a high microfinance penetration rate and recent events.


IIBS PGDM finance student’s talks about Socio-Economic Effects of Microfinance on Agricultural Sector: An Analysis of Farmer’s Standard of Life in Andhra Pradesh.

PGDM Students in a group share facts and data about the microfinance products policy, RBI norms to grants microcredit to the individuals as well as families. Our objective of this session are:

  • The effect of the loan on farmer’s life and for policymakers in designing of micro-financing products.
  • To identify the social and cultural gaps those compel farmers in debts.

Microfinance is the source of socio-economic development of poor and small-scale business holders. It morally and ethically motivates a poor to work for self-employment. The loan is given to the poor’s for generating project and expansion of business and its term and conditions are flexible and easy to understand.
The expansion of the loan is quick and fast as well as easy. Microfinance helps an individual to become independent economically and provides additional income generating activities.

IIBS Alumni Association Meet - 2018 was held in Bangalore

The IIBS Alumni Association conducted the Annual Alumni Meet 2018 on Saturday 17th Nov 2018 at IIBS Airport campus, Bangalore. It was open to all alumni from the first batch onwards.

Objectives of IIBS Alumni Association Annual Meet 2018:


    1. To elect new board members.
    2. Alumni Interaction- Batches 2008-2016
    3. Alumni Interaction with present 2017 & 2018 Batch.

    The Alumni from 2018 till 2016 batch participated and made the event a huge success. Alumni meet 2018 focused more on a program by the Alumni and for the Alumni.

    The Board members elected on the very first Alumni meet 2015 - Mr.Tony Paul as IAA President, Amit Giri as Vice President and Avinash Reddy as General Secretary, who served IAA for 3 years, passed on the baton to new board members:
    Are elected on 17th Nov 2018. Also, the outgoing board members handed over the IAA Official Documents to management. Further management gave the responsibility to newly elected board members.

    The program had a special touch of Pledge Ceremony (signature event) done by IIBS Registrar Prof. Rizwan Ali Baig, where Alumni recited the pledge promising to uphold the values of the institute and pass them down through generations.


    Alumni from all the batches are the real successor in their fields of work. So, on this occasion, the management recognised many Alumni with Awards and Recognition under various categories like- Best Position, CSR Active Member, Best Entrepreneur, IIBS Success Story and Alumni Contribution-IIBS.

    The program concluded with an enthusiastic cultural performance by 2018 batch followed by the vote of thanks by Avinash Reddy- Former IAA General Secretary.

    In order to achieve a good result, a pious objective is determined first and then followed by a dedicated team to achieve it.
